Posting on spam topics causes clutter, as the delete only removes their post, leading to random threads with Russian titles. Instead of posting, simply post the url to the topic here, and an admin will delete and ban them. Thank-you in advance! :)

Note:
This is for spam topics posted in foreign languages, advertising something; or posting something of an illegal nature. For topics that aren't illegal, click the '!' button on the top right corner of the post, and a mod or admin will address it A.S.A.P.

If you have encountered a message which you think is spam, please post a URL on this thread, and I or another admin will see to it that person's account and posts are deleted; and their IP is banned.

alright, so i have no idea what i'm talking about. Isn't there a limited number of ip addresses? Blocking an ip address could block potential visitors no? and ip addresses change quite often. It would be quite simple to change the ip address of the computer or even switch to a new ISP. Why not ban Mac Addresses?

Frankly, there is no good way to prevent them from coming back day after day without an IP ban. IP addresses only change when you switch ISPs; which massive company's that use bots to spam millions of websites do from time to time. However, those companies own a range of IP addresses (IE: 255.0.0.0-255.0.0.255) and they use all of those IPs in various places. There's so many websites out there, that one IP ban won't make it worth taking the time and money to change their ISP. Most of these companies are based in China, Korea, and other foreign Countries. IP addresses are unique to a certain extent, and the manor in which we block them ensures they can't block potential members.

All email addresses with the domain mail.ru have been blocked, as almost all offending accounts have that email, which is a Russian based email, this should not interfere with most potential users, and at the time it is alerted that it does, a new solution will be devised. At this time, this is the best method. Continue reporting any other spam you see here. :)

This isn't spam as defined in this thread. I made the first post more clear. For spam of this nature (not illegal and/or bots/in foreign languages), click the ! button on the top right of the post, that reports it to us, which we will then handle. That response is however, not spam; it's jut very succinct (I thought the same until I checked it further).
